Janna Widdifield created VESSELS in 2013 to engage tween girls in a fast-paced club environment where they would discover God’s truth about their identity, value and purpose. Think: Jesus + discipleship, then sprinkle it with glitter. Immediately, the first club in Arvada, CO began to grow from 30 to 60 to 80 to now 180 girls each week. God opened doors to help women in other states launch VESSELS clubs at their churches, and VESSELS Ministries was born. What Janna didn’t anticipate was the impact the ministry would have on the generations of women (from 18-80) who lead and serve as club volunteers. Beyond discipling the girls, VESSELS uniquely engages and encourages women of all ages to grow in their faith with this message: we each have a unique purpose and place in God’s story.

During her decades plus experience in VESSELS, Janna became an expert in intergenerational discipleship--teaching and engaging multiple generations of women simultaneously. Janna uses her knowledge of tween girl struggles and challenges to create life-giving, practical and relatable teachings. But her real superpower is creating teams of women and a culture where these messages thrive and transform lives. Inspirational talks in a culture of cliques and judging glances (whether it's girls or women) becomes just another social activity. Instead, a "VESSELS" culture is one in which we become confident in how God sees us and in doing so, it changes how we treat other girls/women. She shares this insight and strategies with VESSELS club directors to help build this culture in their local community and is available to speak at your women's event or as a podcast guest. ​​​​​​​​
