Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant/Purchasing (Part-Time) 

Location: Arvada, CO 


Hours: 15 hours per week – set your routine schedule (Monday through Friday only)  

Compensation: $22-$28 per hour 



Vessels Ministries is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing accounting functions, with a focus on purchasing and inventory control. Financial Management: 

  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the ministry. 

  • Conduct regular financial analysis and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with established policies. 



  • Collaborate with craft department to understand purchasing needs. 

  • Source and negotiate with vendors to secure cost-effective and quality goods and services. 

  • Maintain accurate records of purchase transactions and vendor agreements. 


Inventory Control: 

  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels. 

  • Conduct regular audits to reconcile physical inventory with system records. 

  • Coordinate with relevant departments to manage surplus and obsolete inventory. 



  • Perform general accounting duties, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations. 

  • Ensure adherence to accounting principles and compliance with regulatory requirements. 


Budget Management: 

  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the ministry's budget. 

  • Provide financial insights to aid in decision-making and resource allocation. 



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.  

       (Associates degree will be considered as well or strong business, economics or accounting student.)  

  • Proven experience as a Senior Staff Accountant, with expertise in purchasing and inventory control. 

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. 

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors. 

  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
